Kansas City Kicks Off the Holiday Season with WHO’S HOLIDAY
Ho! Ho! Ho! Kansas City is buzzing with holiday cheer as it welcomes back WHO’S HOLIDAY, a hilarious adult comedy that’s sure to tickle your festive funny bone! The show made its grand return on Friday, December 6, at the cozy The Ruby Room nestled within the Crown Center, and will be running until December 23. This comedy with a twist of rhyme has become a much-anticipated holiday staple in the city, and it’s not hard to see why!
A Delightfully Cheeky Parody
Put together by Padgett Productions, under the direction of the talented Nick Padgett, WHO’S HOLIDAY brings some much-needed adult humor to the festive season. Following a one-year break, this is the fifth stage production of the show and the third consecutive year that it has been performed at Crown Center. The laughter and delight are infectious, making Ruby Room the perfect venue for this cheeky take on a holiday classic!
Written by Matthew Lombardo, the show originally opened in 2017 at the Westside Theatre in New York City. Lombardo even played the legal card, suing the Dr. Seuss estate before the show could make its stage debut. But now that the curtain has risen, no subject is off-limits for the grown-up Cindy Lou Who! What could possibly be better than older, wiser (and perhaps a little saucier) versions of these beloved characters?
Meet Cindy Lou Who!
Ever wonder what happened to that adorable little lady who once caught the Grinch red-handed stealing gifts? Well, now you’re going to find out! The spotlight shines on Helena Cosentino, who takes on the role of the uproarious Cindy Lou Who. Cosentino is a true delight on stage—her over-the-top antics and witty banter with the audience make you feel like you’re part of the show! Just a heads-up though, she has no qualms about poking fun at audience members, so come prepared!
In WHO’S HOLIDAY, you’ll find yourself on a rollercoaster of laughter as Cindy Lou spills the tea about her time in Whoville, her love life with a certain green coat-wearing monster, and the events that led to her being exiled from her town. Curious? You’ll have to grab a ticket to uncover the entire storyline, including what’s up with her daughter, Patti!
