Hello, Kansas City! It looks like it’s that time of the day when we take a close look at what’s happening on our roads. Whether you’re commuting to work or out running errands, knowing the latest traffic updates can save you some serious time and headaches. Let’s dive into the current traffic reports that have been keeping drivers on their toes!
Starting off with eastbound I-35, there has been a minor crash reported between 95th Street/Exit 224 and US-69/Exit 225. This event is impacting about 0.91 miles of road. The initial report came in at 6:27 p.m., and the situation was updated shortly after at 6:39 p.m.. If you’re heading this way, keep an eye out and try to take alternative routes if possible.
Meanwhile, just a bit further down I-35 in Overland Park, another crash has occurred between 75th Street/Exit 227 and 67th Street/Exit 228. This is affecting about 50 feet of traffic and was announced around 5:24 p.m., with the last update just 15 minutes later at 5:39 p.m..
In addition to accidents, some broken-down vehicles are also causing delays on multiple highways. On northbound I-29/I-35, there’s a vehicle that has broken down between MO-210/Armour Road/Exit 6 and Parvin Road/Exit 8, affecting approximately 70 feet since 6:24 p.m..
Another broken-down vehicle has been reported on eastbound I-35 between 119th Street/Exit 220 and I-435/Exit 222, where it’s impacting a larger section of about 630 feet. This incident was noted earlier in the day at 3:53 p.m., with updates following at 5:15 p.m..
If you’re navigating around Kansas City, there are a few road closures to be aware of. For instance, Marsh Avenue is temporarily closed from I-70 exit 63 to I-435 South. This closure began around 9:02 p.m. with further updates provided just after midnight.
Another area to avoid is Northeast Birmingham Road, closed between Randolph Road and I-435 North. This closure impacts about 260 feet and has been reported since the early hours of the day.
Lastly, on eastbound I-70, expect some interruptions due to broken-down vehicles. There have been several reports affecting different stretches of the road including sections between the I-435/Exit 411 and 78th Street/Exit 414, as well as from Blue Ridge Cut Off/Exit 9 to US-40/Exit 11. These incidents vary in length, but each one can disrupt an otherwise smooth commute.
Well, Kansas City, there you have it. Traffic can be unpredictable, but keeping yourself informed helps ensure a safer journey. If you find yourself on any impacted roads, don’t forget to stay calm, obey traffic rules, and keep your distance from other vehicles. Here’s to hoping the rest of your day is smooth sailing!
As always, if you notice anything out on the roads that seems off, don’t hesitate to report it! Safe travels, everyone!
