Incidents on Major Highways

First up, there’s been a broken down vehicle on the merging lanes of I-29/I-35 near the intersection of 16th Avenue and MO-210. Another similar situation was reported just a tad further along I-29/I-35. A breakdown was reported between Bedford Road and 16th Avenue, impacting another 570 feet of traffic. This alert was shared along with the earlier report, so you might consider a different route to avoid delays.

Other Areas of Concern

Over in Olathe, a broken-down vehicle is taking up space on I-35 from Old K-56 to East Santa Fe Street, affecting 580 feet. They reported the situation around 3:50 p.m., with updates promptly shared by 4:00 p.m.. Keep that in mind if your drive takes you that way!

Switching gears to Kansas City, a traffic incident on I-70 has popped up as well. There’s been a crash reported between Benton Boulevard and 18th Street, affecting roughly 620 feet. The alert was first issued at 10:52 p.m. Sunday night, and by 12:01 a.m. Monday morning, updates were already coming in.

And if you find yourself on I-435, be aware of multiple broken-down vehicles reported in both directions. There are vehicles on southbound I-435 from 96th Street to MO-152, and northbound from Donahoo Road to K-5. Each of these incidents is visibly impacting various sections of the highway. The affected areas cover distances from 250 feet to 580 feet, with reports occurring throughout the day.

A Glimpse at Road Closures

Interestingly, US-169 has a bridge closure that might affect your plans if you travel north from I-70/I-35/US-40. This closure stretches for 2.2 miles, with alerts issued as far back as Friday evening. So if that’s part of your route, plan accordingly!
