Hey there, Kansas City! If you’ve got a sweet tooth, then you’re in for a real treat! The Yard Milkshake Bar, a popular chain known for its enormous and delightful milkshakes, is making its way to the Power and Light District. That’s right, folks! You’ll soon be able to indulge in some of the craziest and most delicious desserts right in our neck of the woods.
The Yard Milkshake Bar has signed on the dotted line to take over the lease at 1350 Walnut St, the spot that was once home to a Burger King Whopper Bar. Remember that place? Well, it closed its doors during the pandemic, but now it will be transformed into a milkshake paradise! The husband-and-wife duo, Logan and Chelsea Green, who founded this delightful chain, plan to open the Kansas City location in early 2025. Talk about a reason to mark your calendars and get excited!
For those who may not know, The Yard gained some serious fame back in 2019 when it appeared on an episode of “Shark Tank.” That’s when Logan and Chelsea made a deal with the one and only Mark Cuban, who invested $400,000 in exchange for a 22% stake. Since then, the franchise has expanded to a whopping 31 locations across the U.S., continuing to impress everyone with their creative and over-the-top milkshakes.
You might be wondering what all the fuss is about. Well, let me tell you! This place is all about serving milkshakes that are *Instagram-ready*—the kind that you’ll want to snap a pic of before you even take your first sip. Their menu boasts jaw-dropping creations like the Mint Brownie Mudslide, the whimsical Cookies ‘N Worms (imagine Oreo crumbles, gummy worms, mini marshmallows, and cookie dough ice cream all in one shake!), and let’s not forget the show-stopping Cookie Monster—a combo of blue monster ice cream with a rim of mini chocolate chip cookies, topped off with a decadent cookie dough sandwich and drizzles of blue marshmallow cream. Pure heaven, right?
But what’s even cooler is that the Kansas City location will feature a special shake dedicated to our local fans—introducing the Red Kingdom! This royal treat will combine cookie dough and cookies and cream ice cream, topped with whipped cream, red and gold marshmallows, and a brownie shaped like… you guessed it—a football! Perfect for game days or just a fun day out in the city.
John Moncke, the president of the Kansas City Power & Light District, is just as excited as we are. He shared his enthusiasm, saying, “We are so thrilled to welcome The Yard Milkshake Bar to the District. This unique concept will be a great addition to our neighborhood, and adding this specialty dessert location will make the lives of our residents, tenants and visitors a little sweeter.”
As we eagerly anticipate the arrival of The Yard Milkshake Bar, keep an eye out for more updates! With a bit of patience and lots of excitement, we’ll soon have the chance to dive into these delightful treats and enjoy some fun times with friends and family.
So, Kansas City, are you ready to shake things up? Mark your calendars for early 2025, and get ready to satisfy your sweet cravings like never before! It’s going to be a sweet adventure!
