Hey there, Kansas City! We’ve got some bittersweet news about our ever-evolving food scene. After a lot of careful thinking and consideration of the current market conditions, Strang Chef Collective has decided to close its downtown location at Lightwell. That’s right – say goodbye to Anousone, your go-to spot for Southeast Asian flavors, and Panacea, the New American Bistro that had everyone raving!
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 26 – that’ll be the last day you can grab a bite at this special spot. Located at 1100 Main St., the Strang Chef Collective had hoped for a long and prosperous run in downtown KC, but it seems the hustle and bustle of city life just didn’t play out as planned.
Strang Chef Collective’s CEO, Shawn Craft, shared some heartfelt thoughts about the closing. “Being a part of Lightwell was an exciting part of our brand growth for Strang Hall, and we hoped for a long-term partnership downtown,” he said. However, the pandemic brought along some unexpected challenges that left a mark on how people dine and socialize.
Originally, the concept for Strang Chef Collective emerged before the world changed. With the rise of hybrid work weeks and flex schedules, foot traffic in downtown areas has seen a significant decline, making it difficult for the business to keep afloat even with their best efforts.
But here’s the silver lining: not all is lost for Strang Chef Collective. While the downtown location is shutting its doors, both Strang Hall in Downtown Overland Park and the Strang Chef Collective on the Plaza will continue to thrill your taste buds. Plus, if you’re a fan of Anousone, you can still find it at Strang Hall in Overland Park. So fear not, food lovers! There are still delicious culinary adventures awaiting you.
Even though we’re saying goodbye to one of our cherished spots, this isn’t the end of the story for downtown Kansas City’s dining scene. Our city has shown incredible resilience and adaptability, and we can expect new and exciting things to pop up. After all, Kansas City has a knack for bouncing back and embracing change!
If you’re looking for what’s next, keep your eyes peeled. Our vibrant culinary scene continues to expand and grow as chefs innovate and find new ways to entice our appetites. Kansas City is like family – it faces struggles and triumphs but always finds a way to celebrate what makes it unique.
As you bid farewell to this downtown gem, remember to support your local eateries. They appreciate every single visit! And don’t forget to stay tuned to the latest news regarding hot new places to eat, fun events, and other exciting happenings in our city. There’s always something new cooking up around here, and you definitely won’t want to miss out!
So there you have it, folks! It’s tough to see Strang Chef Collective at Lightwell close its doors, but we’re looking forward to what’s next in the heart of Kansas City. Don’t forget to enjoy a meal at one of Strang’s remaining locations before they launch a fresh new chapter in their culinary journey!
