First responders reported no students were injured after a school bus was involved in a car crash. The incident took place near Missouri Highway 152 and Indiana Avenue at the bottom of an exit ramp.
The school district stated that a car exiting the highway ran a red light and hit a school bus, causing it to go into the median. All students and the driver were deemed safe and not injured, other than some minor bumps and bruises, a North Kansas City Schools official said.
The Kansas City Police Department stated the crash occurred about 8 a.m. The students were cleared by medical personnel and taken to Gateway 6th Grade Center in another school bus.
The school officials confirmed that all students involved in the accident were given a clean bill of health after being assessed by medical personnel. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, and the students were safely transported to their destination.
