New Local Coffee Shop ‘Odyssey’ Set to Open in Overland Park, Offering a Fusion of Flavor and Cozy Ambience

Coming to Overland Park: Another new local coffee shop

‘Modern and Cozy’ Coffee Destination Ahead

Kansas city soon to welcome another addition to its flourishing café scene. The new coffee shop, named Odyssey, is all set to make its striking debut in Overland Park, a suburb of Kansas City, Kansas, this mid-July.

Odyssey is the brainchild of Susannah and Travis Seipel, a couple who has been avidly exploring the coffee industry for quite some time. Although this is their first venture into launching their own coffee shop, Travis Seipel brings an extensive experience, having worked in a San Francisco coffee shop way back in 2005. The idea bloomed after Travis relocated to the Kansas City area in 2010.

Promising a Fine Fusion of Flavor and Ambience

The couple’s coffee shop will take over a former hair salon located at 5247 W. 95th St. in Overland Park. The inspiration behind the café’s name, ‘Odyssey’, reflects its creators’ coffee journey and the voyage they anticipate for their customers with every sip.

Apart from an intriguing variety of caffeinated drinks, Odyssey would also be catering to food cravings by offering a selection of pastries and breakfast burritos, supplied by Clara’s Kitchen, a renowned food vendor from the West Coast. Moreover, the coffee blends on offer will come from well-known roasters – the Arkansas-based Onyx and California-based Peet’s Coffee.

Serving More than Just Coffee

The Seipel couple aims to provide a relaxing hangout spot that offers much more than just coffee. Besides offering the traditional coffee drinks, the menu will include all-natural syrups-flavored espresso drinks, energy drinks, and smoothies among other options. Equally important is their promise to serve ‘good basic coffee that people can enjoy.’

To make the experience even better, the couple is planning to create a ‘modern and cozy’ atmosphere by integrating plush seating, blue tiles, and exposed brick walls into the decor of the venue. They hope to create a place where customers can comfortable spend the day, hanging out on the couch, and simply be comfortable.

Building A Coffee Community

The Seipels firmly believe in the power of coffee to bring people together. Travis, in particular, is eagerly looking forward to the prospect of building relationships with their customers. His favorite aspect of the industry, he remarked, is the daily interaction with patrons, getting to know them, and forming connections.

In summary, the couple is gearing up to deliver an exceptional coffee experience marked by a unique blend of tastes, aromas, and an inviting ambience. As the name suggests, Odyssey is about the journey as much as the destination, promising an authentic coffee exploration in every visit.
