Exciting Development Coming to Grandview!

Hey there, Grandview residents! We have some exciting news to share with you about a new development plan that recently received the green light from the Grandview Planning Commission. On August 7th, they formally approved plans for the construction of eight single-family homes on a small parcel of land measuring just 0.83 acres. This location is situated at the intersection of 13th and 135th Streets, which is conveniently located just west of 71 Highway.

Details of the Project

The plans for these new homes came from Elevate Design + Build, LLC, a local company based in Blue Springs. Excitingly, this project is a rethink from a larger proposal that was put on the table back in 2021. The original plan called for the demolition of the Calvary Temple Community Church of the Apostolic Faith, but after some conversation, the church opted to stay put and not sell its land.

So, what’s the new plan? Instead of the previous idea, the current proposal focuses on just developing those eight homes without disrupting the church. A notable aspect of the new plans includes a back alley that will provide homeowners with a private drive leading to their backyard garages. This should create a more convenient living experience for those future residents while maintaining the church’s presence in the community.

What’s Next?

Now that the planning commission has approved the development, Grandview Acres has one year to complete the necessary review process before the approval expires. This gives them time to wrap up everything needed to get these homes started. There’s a lot that goes into bringing a vision to reality, and it will be interesting to see how quickly they move forward with the construction!

A Growing Community

As Grandview continues to grow and evolve, it’s great to see that efforts are being made to provide new housing options for families in our area. While change can sometimes be met with hesitation, it can also bring fresh opportunities, increase neighborhood diversity, and support local businesses.

In conclusion, the approval of these eight homes marks a significant step for our community, one that shows we are moving forward while preserving what makes Grandview special. After all, the balance of growth and community integrity is key to fantastic living spaces! So, keep your fingers crossed, and keep an eye out for more updates about this project as they unfold. We can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
