Picerno has not gained access to autopsy or toxicology reports, despite multiple requests. “What we have seen lately, especially with the explosion of fentanyl… we see a lot more people who you wouldn’t necessarily label as drug dealers being charged in these circumstances for some kind of felony murder,” he remarked, implying that the ongoing opioid crisis may offer clues.

Willis has since moved away and deleted his social media profiles, eager to escape the clamor surrounding the case.
