Hey there, coffee lovers! If you thought your morning cup of joe couldn’t get any better, think again! Maryland‘s coffee culture is about to brew up something truly special as FairWave Specialty Coffee Collective has just welcomed Ceremony Coffee Roasters into its flavorful fold. Let’s spill the beans on what this means for coffee aficionados across the state.
FairWave, which hails from the heart of Kansas City, has been making waves since its inception in 2020, and now it’s adding a tasty twist to its lineup with Ceremony Coffee, marking its 11th brand and taking its reach into five states. With Ceremony Coffee Roasters, the collective now boasts six charming locations, a bustling roasting operation, and a well-oiled e-commerce platform, along with a dedicated team of 85 coffee experts.
Founded in 2002 and based in lovely Annapolis, Ceremony Coffee has long been a fan favorite, known for its commitment to quality and community. With founder Vincent Iatesta still at the helm, Ceremony continues to offer what customers love while looking ahead to exciting upgrades. “We want to keep the experience familiar while enhancing our systems and expanding our capabilities,” Iatesta said in a recent press release.
So, why did Ceremony Coffee decide to join forces with FairWave? According to Wholesale Director Ronnie Haas, it felt like a “natural next step.” After assessing the future a few years ago, the decision to team up with FairWave aligned perfectly with their vision of growth and sustainability.
This isn’t FairWave’s first foray into strengthening its coffee community. In addition to Ceremony, the group has acquired other local favorites like The Roasterie and Messenger Coffee Co., crafting a collection that celebrates the rich tapestry of the coffee culture across various states. Each brand lucky enough to be under the FairWave umbrella retains its unique identity, allowing them to stay true to their roots while benefiting from shared knowledge and strategies.
FairWave’s innovative model is doing wonders. Since starting just a few years ago, the collective has doubled its revenue and added three new brands in 2023 alone, showcasing its effectiveness. Just last year, they expanded their reach to the icy terrains of Wisconsin, as well as the cozy spots in Minnesota, adding names like Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. and Spyhouse Coffee Roasters to their roster.
With 16 local locations sprinkled across the Maryland landscape and 28 in total, FairWave is making significant strides in the coffee game. This partnership promises not only to enrich the local coffee scene but also to provide an even better experience for customers in various states.
As we gear up for this delightful blend of tradition and innovation, coffee aficionados in Maryland can expect to see some exciting changes coming their way. So, grab your favorite brew from any of the Ceremony Coffee locations, sit back, and anticipate the thrilling developments on the horizon!
If you’re in Maryland, the coffee scene is about to heat up in the best way possible. Whether you’re a long-time Ceremony loyalist or new to the community, get ready to enjoy even more from the rich world of coffee. Cheers to that!
