KC Symphony Designers’ Showhouse Reveals 54th Home Transformation in Historic Roanoke District

KC Symphony Designers’ Showhouse Unveils 54th Home in Roanoke Historic District

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —The much-anticipated event of the year, the KC Symphony Designers’ Showhouse, is back. This is the 54th year of the annual tradition when local designers transform a historic home into a dreamy affair. For the uninitiated, every year since 1970, a historic Kansas City home is selected for this design extravaganza where homeowners move out to let designers step in and work their magic.

Roanoke Historic District House: The Chosen One

Every year, the eyes are set on the home that would under the designers’ hammer. This year, the chosen house stands in the silent bylanes of the Roanoke Historic District. The house, once the home of the renowned painter Thomas Hart Benton, is rich in history and artistic appeal. “We’re very excited to have this house. It was once the home of Thomas Hart Benton, a famous painter,” enthused Mike Minor, Showhouse co-chair.

Design and Charity: A Melodic Symphony

The KC Symphony Designers’ Showhouse is indeed a celebrated event for design enthusiasts. However, this event has a larger purpose. The proceeds from ticket sales enrich the community as they spark goodwill. “The Kansas City Symphony does a lot of outreach projects,” Minor explained. “They have educational programs for students, they have the mobile music box. It does a lot for the city.”

A Wonderful Opportunity for the Public

The house in Roanoke Historic District is now open for the public, creating a wonderful opportunity to see these exemplary designs up close. So, folks looking to experience this rare amalgam of history, art and design are invited to step into this enchanting world that pulsates with creativity.

Get Your Tickets!

For those curious to step into this haven of design and creativity, tickets can be booked via the Showhouse website. Not only does this event offer a visual treat for the senses, but it also is a commendable endeavor that augments city’s social initiatives, thus providing an opportunity to contribute towards a noble cause.

For the artist in you, for the designer in you, for the history lover in you, and for the philanthropist in you, this event promises to be a delightful feast for all. So, don’t stay back but step ahead and be a part of this unique Kansas City tradition that brings the best of design to your doorstep.
