Update on KC Scout Systems Restoration Begins

In Kansas City, a significant step towards resuming the KC Scout system services is finally underway. Following a cyberattack on the 25th of April this year, the KC Scout services, including the website, message boards, and cameras linked to KC Scout, have been offline. The services are expected to commence their long-awaited recovery from Wednesday, the 12th of June.

Restoration Plan Commences

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), the reintroduction of real-time information is the foremost phase of reinstating all KC Scout systems and services. Starting from Wednesday, drivers within the Kansas City area will notice test messages being displayed on digital boards, signifying a positive move towards full recovery.

Additional Restoration Efforts

Furthermore, additional restoration efforts are in progress, which consist of the integration of camera views accessible online, stream access for media associates, and having the website operational again. As the deadline for overall service restoration for both public and media draws nearer, MoDOT and KDOT promise to provide an additional update.

Existing Traffic Information Services

Meanwhile, KC Metro has been availing the critical traffic insights through the existing modot.org in Missouri and KanDrive.gov in Kansas. Though this has not been able to match up to the real-time data available through KC Scout services, it has played a crucial role in containing the situation.

In Missouri, citizens can call 888-275-6636 or visit www.modot.org and for Kansas, citizens can call 511 or visit KanDrive.gov for traveler information concerning the KC metro.

The restoration of KC Scout services is indeed a long-awaited relief for drivers as well as agencies involved in traffic monitoring and management in both Missouri and Kansas. The agencies look forward to the completion of these efforts that will ensure the resumption of services and intend to keep the public updated about the progress. This progressive move is indeed a testament to the resilience of the Kansas city under challenging circumstances.
