Kansas City Schools Set to Transform with Major Bond Plan

On Wednesday, they wrapped up the final touches on a whopping $470 million bond plan that aims to address years of neglect in school maintenance and modernize facilities across the district. A Bright Future for KC Schools

The plan’s success hinges on voters approving a bond in April 2025. If passed, KCPS could borrow a staggering $474 million to help fund these much-needed upgrades and repairs. But there’s a catch! The board needs the green light from four out of every seven voters to push this through. The expected cost for homeowners is less than 64 cents a day — an annual increase of about $230 for a typical home valued at $200,000.
