Kansas City, Mo.— A premiere hometown band, Lost Wax Band, is seeking to elevate Kansas City’s reputation on a national scale in the brand new reality competition show, “Second Chance Stage”. Originating from the Magnolia Network, this unique competition series will be filmed on location at the city’s own Music Hall from Saturday through to the following Wednesday.

The Role of Lost Wax Band in the Competition

Lost Wax Band, renowned for their debut as the house band at last year’s NFL Draft, have once again been chosen to play the same role in this competition show. Chris Davis, band director for the Lost Wax Band, revealed that the producer, captivated by Kansas City during the filming of another show, wanted to integrate the city’s vibe and DNA into the production.

“Second Chance Stage” exhibits an amalgamation of features from popular reality television contest shows, “So You Think You Can Dance” and “American Idol”. The series brings together thirty contestants from across the US, giving them an opportunity to perform again before secretive celebrity judges and a live audience for another shot at fame.

The representation of Kansas City

Hardworking and humble, yet still filled with ambition, Lost Wax Band symbolises the essence of Kansas City. The city is widely known for being welcoming, possessing a blend of blue-collar work ethic and big city ambiance. The band’s director mentioned that the show was aimed at effectively portraying the local spirit that is deeply rooted in the city’s populace.

Another figure from Kansas City, Ashton Martin, serves as a DJ and emcee for the show. He has intimately watched the city grow, believing that the residents earn the spotlight. Martin underlines the importance of the show in showcasing Kansas City’s authenticity, stating, “Instead of being a flyover state, now we’re a destination. It shows our authenticity and what we really truly have as talent in the talent pool in KC.”

Advantages of the show

“Second Chance Stage” is set to generate opportunities not only for the contestants but also for Lost Wax Band, and Kansas City. The orientation of the national spotlights on Kansas City for this show signifies the recognition the city so rightly deserves. Davis expressed his optimism, “I think that the secrets out on Kansas City.”

Live taping for the show begins on Saturday, March 16, at the Music Hall and concludes on Wednesday, March 20. The much-anticipated finale will be filmed at the Midland Theater on March 26.
