Kansas City’s Quincy Lee: A Rising Creative Force Shaping the Future

Kansas City’s Quincy Lee: A Creative Force on the Rise

In the vibrant heart of Kansas City, an extraordinary “creativepreneur” is making waves, juggling an impressive array of roles from video content creation to running a digital marketing agency, all while being a devoted father. Meet Quincy Lee, a man whose imagination seems to work overtime, crafting innovative ideas that continuously come into focus.

From Small Beginnings to Big Dreams

Quincy’s entrepreneurial spirit ignited at a young age. “I’ve always been an entrepreneur all my life,” he reflected as he fondly recalled the days when he sold skateboard parts and sneakers to his classmates. Who would have thought those early hustle days would plant the seeds for his multifaceted career?

Today, Quincy is pouring his heart and soul into his apparel brand, “Imagination at Work”. This collection reflects his creative philosophy, showing off a quirky flair that’s all his own. “My imagination is always working,” he shared, “Sometimes it drives me crazy, but it’s who I am.” Truly, this phrase captures the essence of his passion for creativity. If you’re intrigued, you can even purchase his unique shirt designs and join the journey of imagination made tangible!

A Talented Collaborator

Lee’s first passion remains solidly grounded in videography and advertising through his agency, Social Apex Media, located right in Kansas City. The agency is known for its work with major brands like Doordash, Starbucks, Quiktrip, and SportingKC. Quincy also has a solid partnership with various organizations, showing his commitment to building a collaborative environment in the creative community.

When not behind the camera capturing stunning visuals or steering advertising initiatives, Quincy dives into storytelling through film. His recent short film, “Break Free,” takes a deep look into overcoming mental barriers, encouraging many to beat that nasty thing called analysis paralysis.

Turning Pain into Purpose

Lee’s journey hasn’t been all smooth sailing. In late 2017, he received a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, which turned his world upside down. This unexpected twist could have blocked his creativity, but instead, it opened new doors. “It was a scary time,” Quincy admitted. However, he found solace in photography and videography. “Around then, I had just gotten a camera, so I started taking photography and videography seriously. That creative outlet kept me going.”

Quincy’s decision to pick up the camera changed the course of his career and life itself. “I’d be scared if I never went for that camera,” he said. “It changed everything for me.”

The Influencer Dad

Family is a huge cornerstone in Quincy’s life. His young daughter fuels his ambition and provides valuable perspective, even on the toughest days. Quincy chuckles, “My daughter puts me through a lot — lots of emotions. But she keeps me grounded.”

For those dreaming of entrepreneurship, Quincy has some heartfelt advice: “Figure out what you love and build skills towards that. Don’t lose your core skill, because that’s when you start to lose yourself. Keep your passion the main thing.”

A Vision for Change

One project that’s incredibly close to his heart is an upcoming film that delves into his experiences with law enforcement, sparked by a rather unsettling encounter during a family trip to Los Angeles. “First time ever in LA, I went to the beach with my family, and suddenly, I heard ‘Come out with your hands up.’” It was an incident that left a lasting impact on him, driving his urge to showcase the narratives of young Black men as innovative entrepreneurs deserving a spotlight.

Quincy Lee embodies the spirit of resilience, creativity, and strength. Watch out Kansas City, because with minds like Quincy nurturing bold ideas and chasing dreams, the future looks incredibly bright!
