With the beginning salary for a KCPD officer now sitting at an attractive \textbf{\$65,000}, it’s no wonder that interest is picking up! The max salary an officer can achieve is \textbf{\$104,676}. Currently, there are two significant recruit classes in progress. The \textbf{182nd Entrant Officer Class} has 17 recruits exclusively from KCPD and 31 recruits in total. Meanwhile, the \textbf{183rd Entrant Officer Class} will feature 14 KCPD recruits alongside 36 recruits overall. With such a solid pool of candidates entering the pipeline, the future looks bright for Kansas City’s policing needs.
It isn’t just officers that KCPD is looking to add; they’re also facing a shortfall in _professional staff_. Currently, there’s a need for \textbf{82 more professional staff members}, with a goal of 609 total employees in this category.
