Kansas City is buzzing with some fantastic news for food lovers! The beloved Crossroads sports bar, Streetcar Grille and Tavern, has expanded its reach and is now serving up delicious eats in the Northland. Having opened just last month at 8340 N. Broadway, right across from Metro North Crossing, this new location aims to bring the same vibrant atmosphere as its original spot.
According to operating partner John Glenn, the team at Streetcar Grille and Tavern is dedicated to creating an amazing experience for its guests. “We have great partners invested and continue to hire great staff and treat them like family,” says Glenn. With the aspiration to be the best sports bar and grill in the area, the Northland menu is set to dazzle with unique offerings.
Some mouth-watering highlights from the menu include specialty burgers like the River Market burger, topped with barbecue brisket, cheddar cheese, and crispy onion straws. For cheese lovers, the Twisted Grilled Cheese should definitely not be missed—it features pepper jack, cheddar, horseradish-chive cheese, jalapeno jam, and fried cheese curds. And if you’re in the mood for something fresh, try the grilled salmon Greek salad drizzled with housemade avocado dressing.
Beer enthusiasts will be pleased to see 22 beers on tap and two signature J.Rieger & Co. cocktails, making this a new hotspot for hangouts and watch parties!
Just a stone’s throw away, another culinary venture is taking shape. Sierra Grill, known for its upscale vibe, is branching out into a more laid-back barbecue affair with the newly opened Sierra BBQ. Located at 11099 Lackman Road, Lenexa, this new quick-service spot opened its doors at the end of October. While there isn’t a full bar, patrons can grab some canned and bottled beers or beverages to accompany their meals.
Guests will appreciate the convenience of ordering at the counter, with servers bringing the food to their tables. Designed mostly for take-out and delivery, there’s around 50 seats available—perfect for a quick bite or for those planning to cater events.
“It is kind of an iconic building,” he shares. With a menu that promises traditional Irish favorites like fish and chips, Reubens, and an acclaimed Fisherman’s pie, there’s no shortage of deliciousness in store. Plus, for anyone in the mood for something unique, try the chicken fried chicken or pork belly lettuce wraps!
A fresh face in downtown Parkville is sure to turn heads. After eyeing a vacant corner building for years, Rosa Parra has launched K-Tacos & More with her husband, Guillermo Ramos. They spent a month transforming the space into a vibrant restaurant, complete with colorful murals done by a local artist, showcasing Mexican culture.
Parra, who has spent two decades in the restaurant business, emphasizes her deep connection with the community, stating, “We are a tight community. We all know each other.” For anyone seeking authentic Mexican tacos or dishes, this new eatery promises to add diversity to Parkville’s dining scene.
Lastly, if you’ve been a fan of the Flying Horse Taproom during its run at 600 E. 63rd St., you’ll want to stay tuned. After a brief refresh and makeover, owners Trey and Kelsey Sabates have decided to shift their focus toward their successful Brookside Wine and Spirits business next door.
With so many thrilling additions to the Kansas City dining landscape, locals and visitors alike have a lot to look forward to. Whether you’re in the mood for sports, Irish fare, BBQ, or authentic Mexican, there’s something new stirring out there for everyone’s taste buds!
