Kansas City Museum Announces Job Openings for Baristas/Culinary Associates and Visitor Experience Associates

Exciting Employment Opportunities at the Kansas City Museum

Kansas City – The illustrious Kansas City Museum is calling out to job seekers, as it offers a variety of employment opportunities that will set you on a heritage-rich and community-centered path. These positions span across areas like culinary work, customer service, and visitor experience delivery, enhancing the historic charm of this esteemed institution.

Roles open for Baristas/Culinary Associates

Food and beverages play a key role in enriching the visitor experience at any museum, and the Kansas City Museum is no different. The museum is currently seeking to onboard Baristas / Culinary Associates for its delightful in-house café, Elixir. Nestled within Corinthian Hall, on the same floor as the Billiard Room, restrooms, and catering kitchen, Elixir is an inviting 690 square feet café that can seat up to 20 people.

The Barista/Culinary Associate will shoulder a slew of responsibilities such as handling daily opening and closing procedures, preparing and serving beverages, including coffee, tea, and alcoholic drinks, dishing out ice cream scoops, sundaes, phosphates, and more. Other duties include serving pre-packaged and ready-to-eat foods, keeping track of inventory and restocking supplies, operating various café equipment, and managing the point-of-sale system to process purchases.

The Barista/Culinary Associate will also engage in some level of food prep, which would include creating salads, crafting light sandwiches, and assembling charcuterie boards. This is a part-time opportunity. The work week is envisioned to be 10-20 hours.

Visitor Experience Associate Role Open

The museum is also on the lookout for a Visitor Experience Associate, a critical customer service role that makes one the first point of contact for the museum’s guests. The job comprises warmly greeting and welcoming museum guests, providing valuable information and assistance, directing visitor traffic, and handling admissions.

The Visitor Experience Associate role is a part-time opportunity with a flexible 15-20 hours per week schedule.
