Kansas City Celebrates New Murals with Exciting Event
On a beautiful Saturday, September 28, 2024, Kansas City witnessed a vibrant celebration that showcased the city’s love for art and community. The Phase II of the MO Rivers Murals project officially kicked off in Berkley Riverfront, turning an ordinary day into an extraordinary visual feast along the levee walls under the Town of Kansas Bridge.
A Canvas of Colors
As part of the festivities, seven talented artists gathered to put their final touches on breathtaking murals that adorned the walls. Local art lovers were in for a treat, watching artists like Alexander Austin, Scribe, BIRDCAP, Nicole Salgar, Chelsea Lewinski, EMIT, and Evolution Sign & Mural transform the space into a dazzling art gallery.
Food, Fun, and Music!
The event wasn’t just about murals; it offered an entire day filled with family-friendly activities. Food trucks lined up, serving delicious bites for every taste bud. Whether you were craving savory tacos, sweet treats, or mouth-watering barbecue, there was something to satisfy any appetite. To make the experience even more enjoyable, a special collaboration with Big Rip Brewing Company was unveiled. They designed exclusive cans featuring their favorite craft brews, so everyone could toast to the occasion with a cold drink in hand. Attendees were encouraged to use the KC Streetcar for hassle-free transportation. The recommended stop was at 3rd and Grand, followed by a quick walk to the celebration site. Those opting to drive may have had a bit more challenge finding parking due to a KC Current match happening at noon nearby, so carpooling or choosing public transport was a smart choice!
