The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) is launching a new Master of Legal Studies program, with applications currently open and classes set to begin in the Fall of 2025. This innovative 30-credit program will be held entirely online, targeting individuals who are looking to enhance their legal knowledge while continuing with their professional lives.

The program is designed specifically for working professionals who may not have the time or need to pursue a full Juris Doctor degree. Individuals in fields such as human resources, health services, or corporate compliance are expected to find significant value in this program. Students will have the flexibility to choose from four specialized concentrations: health law, human resources law, compliance, and a general track. With this structure, students can complete the degree in as little as two years, allowing them to balance their studies with their existing job responsibilities.

This degree will help develop a flexible workforce suited to continue moving the Kansas City economy forward.”
