Kansas City is a vibrant place filled with food, culture, and some surprising treasures waiting to be uncovered. If you haven’t already stumbled upon Rozanna’s Flowers, you are missing out on one of the city’s real hidden gems. More than just a flower shop, this enchanting spot is like a farmer’s market disguised in a floral paradise! Can you imagine wandering through rows of brilliant blooms while discovering shelves loaded with the freshest produce? That’s exactly what awaits you at Rozanna’s.
Known particularly for its stunning collection of mums and breathtaking garden displays, Rozanna’s doesn’t stop at flowers. Inside, you’ll find fresh produce that could make any meal sing. Think about it: you can pick up cabbage so crisp it crackles, juicy apples and strawberries that practically call out to be turned into a pie, and vine-ripened tomatoes and corn perfect for those summer salads or juices. There’s just a special kind of joy in shopping for fresh fruits and veggies surrounded by a riot of colors from the flowers.
As the seasons change, so does the selection at Rozanna’s. With fall just around the corner, the shelves are now bursting with pumpkins in every shape and size. Whether you’re preparing for Halloween festivities or simply want to add some autumn charm to your home, Rozanna’s has got your back. You’ll discover everything from super-sized pumpkins for carving to charming smaller gourds for decor.

Starting from City Market, we explored the River Market, where Brittany shared fascinating stories about its evolution and highlighted its rich history. Our first coffee stop was at Donutology, where I couldn’t resist trying their delightful mini donuts alongside a cup of coffee. Those tiny, beautifully decorated sweet bites are definitely worth braving the rain for!
Next, we hopped on the KC Streetcar and made our way downtown to Waterbird Coffee. I had a taste of their luscious lavender latte, and let me tell you, it was so good that I had to get a full-sized one. Plus, hearing about Waterbird’s incredible journey from a pandemic startup to a local favorite made it even more special—especially with their growing popularity every time the Kansas City Chiefs win a Super Bowl! Exciting times for the coffee-loving fans!
As we continued our journey, we wandered through the Crossroads Arts District, where vibrant murals adorned the walls of Art Alley. It was a feast for the eyes! Our last stop was HiTides Coffee, where I was pleasantly surprised by a refreshing Dole Whip, an unexpected yet delightful treat. HiTides boasts a laid-back tropical vibe that perfectly contrasted with our rainy day.
By the end of the hike, we had covered roughly three miles, sampled delightful local coffee treats, and learned stories of resilience and creativity from these burgeoning businesses. Whether you are looking for a fun outing with friends or a unique team bonding experience, Urban Hike KC offers public and private tours, typically costing around $38 per person—a great value for such an incredible journey!
Kansas City continues to provide unique experiences, from flowers and farm-fresh produce at Rozanna’s to the rich history and amazing coffee spots waiting to be explored. So, why not get out there and discover these wonderful local treasures for yourself?
