After filing a claim for a previous incident in 2022, he received minimal coverage and was subsequently dropped. “The only explanation they say is we don’t cover that area,” he reflects, citing concerns about discrimination in insurance practices. In light of recent events, Vasquez and his co-owner have decided to cover the damages to their broken window and doors out of pocket, instead of risking their policy.
