Soft Launch for Reopening Key Offices in Jackson County Scheduled for Tuesday Amid Ransomware Recovery Efforts

Soft Launch Planned Tuesday for Reopening Key Offices in Jackson County

KANSAS CITY, Mo:

In an effort to recover from a significant criminal ransomware attack, Jackson County officials are planning a soft launch for reopening key offices. This was announced today as part of a larger effort to rebuild the network systems and restore essential services. Cybersecurity experts have been working tirelessly to ensure a smooth and secure restoration process that includes safeguarding critical data.

Recovery Process

The damage caused by the cyberattack necessitated an intensive recovery process. It’s systematically planned to avoid setbacks and prioritize the restoration of essential services. One such step in this recovery process is planning for a soft launch of the reopening of the Assessment, Collection, and Recorder of Deeds offices to the public on Tuesday, April 16.

“We are committed to ensuring a smooth and secure recovery process for our community,” said Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. “The soft launch of key offices marks a significant step towards resuming normal operations. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our residents during this time.”

The Soft Launch Signifies Progress

While the planned soft launch is indeed a testament to the tremendous efforts of the cybersecurity team and marks significant progress, officials acknowledge that there’s still more work to do. They are preparing to release more information in the coming days about how residents can get assistance during this transitional period.

Data Security

Keeping residents’ data safe during this restoration process is of utmost importance to the County. “Every effort is being made to ensure a smooth and secure restoration process. We understand the concern that comes with circumstances like this, but the safety and security of residents’ data remain our top priority,” assured the County Executive.

Staying Updated

Residents are encouraged to keep themselves updated about the ongoing recovery process and re-opening schedules of the various offices. Updates will be available via news media, the county’s website, and social media channels. The residents’ understanding and patience have been appreciated as the county works tirelessly to restore operations.
