Oh, Savannah! Have you heard the fantastic news? The Inspirations Dance Academy has claimed glory at this year’s prestigious Platinum National Dance Competition held right in the heart of Kansas City. This annual gathering attracted talented dancers from across the nation, and our local academy came home with a treasure trove of awards and accolades!

A Triumph Worth Celebrating

The star of the show was undoubtedly Inspirations Dance Academy’s Competition Team, which walked away with the much-coveted 2025 Platinum Power Award. To add to their triumph, they were celebrated as the Top Recreational Studio at the competition, proving just how much talent we have right here in Savannah.

Standout Performances Galore

One performance that absolutely stole the spotlight was Miss Mary’s Garden. This delightful routine showcased the hard work and impeccable choreography crafted by Mary Ingersoll and Raychel Baker. The performance not only earned a Platinum rating but also bagged First Place Overall. To top it all off, this nostalgic and enchanting routine was hailed as the most entertaining of the whole weekend—talk about leaving your mark!

All the Awards, Please!

But that’s just scratching the surface! The competition team also nabbed numerous other impressive awards:

  • Dreaming, a Large Group Jazz number, took home a Platinum, the title of Champion of the Category, and First Place Overall.
  • Let It Grow, a small group Jazz performance, wowed the judges with a Special Judges Award dubbed “Super Stars” alongside a High Gold.
  • Forgotten Stuffies shined brightly as an Acro-Gymnastics Group, receiving a Special Judges Award for “Creative Concept” paired with a High Gold.
  • Grow As We Go, a lovely Lyrical Group routine, earned a Special Judges Award for “Beauty and Grace” and a High Gold.
  • I Feel the Earth Move, a groovy Tap Group, also walked away with a High Gold.

Spotlight on Soloists and Duets

Many individual performers also shone brightly at the competition:

  • Miley Ward‘s Jazz solo, I Don’t Like to Show Off, netted a Platinum and an impressive Eighth Place Overall.
  • Izzy Naber impressed everyone with her Musical Theatre solo, You Can’t Stop the Beat, winning a Special Judges Award for “Broadway Baby” and a High Gold.
  • Harper Werner & Kylie Madget‘s duet, I’ll Be There For You, earned recognition as a “Dynamic Duo” along with a High Gold.
  • Billie Clardy, Elizabeth Ingersoll, & Josie Combs delivered a stellar Jazz Trio with You Can Tell She’s A Princess, winning a Special Judges Award titled “Princess Squad” and a High Gold.
  • Piper Thompson took the stage with her Tap solo, Shake a Tailfeather, which received a High Gold and a Champion of Category title.
  • Grayson Wise showed his versatility with his Open solo, Let’s Go Crazy, grabbing a High Gold and also becoming a Champion of Category.

More solo and duo performers continued to dazzle:

  • Billie Clardy impressed with her Acro-Gymnastics piece, B.E.A.T, earning a High Gold.
  • Avery Davies showcased her talent with Where the Wild Things Are, scoring a Gold.
  • Other remarkable performances included duets and solos that earned High Gold accolades across various categories.
