The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) undertook a comprehensive operation to staunch the rising tide of illegal street racing late last Friday night running into early Saturday morning. The clandestine late-night operations primarily targeted motorcyclists and ATVs engaged in illegal street racing.
The officers succeeded in apprehending several individuals and impounded up to as many as nine vehicles engaged in the illicit activity. Apart from that, they issued traffic citations to dozens of individuals, charging them with street racing, spectating, and executing hazardous moving violations.
The KCPD concentrated their efforts around entertainment districts downtown, reinforcing their stand against deliberate transgressions of traffic laws in the bustling hubs of the city.

In light of similar efforts back in April this year, this recent action from the KCPD signifies their ongoing commitment to ensuring traffic laws are respected. The police action in the preceding month leveraged stop stick deployments, effectively halting street racers and leading to the issuance of multiple traffic citations.
