The esteemed Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts has finally revealed the lineup of performers and the schedule for its 2024 Future Stages Festival. The culturally-rich Kansas City is set to be alight with art and performances from over 30 youth performance groups spread across four stages at this annual festival.
Scheduled for June 9th, 2024, from 12 PM to 5 PM, the Future Stages Festival will host a myriad of Kansas City-area youth performers. Ranging from dance, theatre, music, aerial arts to various other performing arts disciplines, the platform will see performers from different backgrounds showcasing their talent to the wider community.
After a rigorous application process and competition, 35 performance groups are set to own the stage on the day of the festival. The Kauffman Center noted that the Festival embodies their commitment to fostering love for arts among present and future generations.
“We are proud to provide a platform for these budding artists to share their talents with the Kansas City community and showcase the bright future of the performing arts,” expressed Paul Schofer, President and CEO of the Kauffman Center.
With performances scheduled at various stages — the Muriel Kauffman Theatre, Helzberg Hall, the Saint Luke’s Outdoor Stage, and the Kansas City Symphony’s Mobile Music Box stage — attendees will enjoy a day filled with diversified perspectives and interpretations of the arts all under one roof.
Attendees will also find family-friendly arts activities outdoors on the south lawn and indoors at the Brandmeyer Great Hall and the PNC PlaySpace, in the PNC Grow Up Great Gallery area.
Festival-goers can expect performances from a wide array of groups like the 5 Star Jazz Band, AileyCamp The Group, Cathy’s Creative Dance School, KC High School All Star Big Band, Storybook Theatre, Voler Aerial Academy, and many more. The full performance schedule for each stage can be found on the Kauffman Center’s official website.
The Future Stages Festival is a FREE event open to the Kansas City community and tourists alike. Attendees can RSVP for the event at kauffmancenter.org/futurestages to receive the most recent event updates and the performance schedule. Registration is optional, but it is recommended as it maintains a record of the number of attendees and ensures adequate arrangements are made.
The festival will be held at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, located at 1601 Broadway Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64108. Event parking is available in the nearby city-owned Arts District Garage for $16 per vehicle.
The Future Stages Festival has always been a proud tradition of the Kauffman Center, eagerly awaited by the entire Kansas City community. It serves as a shining beacon of the blossoming arts culture in the city and encourages young artists to use the platform to kickstart their creative journey in the world of performing arts.
