The area is undergoing a transformation into the Metro North Crossing, a vibrant 106-acre mixed-use development, which is already home to cozy spots like Third Street Social, T-Shotz, and Hullhouse Coffee.

Investing in the Future

In a push to breathe life back into this part of town, Kansas City’s city council recently gave the green light to include the Macy’s site in a special community improvement district. With over $3 million earmarked just for the renovations of the Macy’s property, it’s safe to say there’s a significant investment in the area’s future. The Metro North Crossing project is estimated to cost more than $250 million overall, and to date, about $100 million has already been pumped into completed phases, which includes $60 million toward new apartments named Woodstone.
