Independence Police Respond to Fatal Shooting
Independence, MO.: The Independence Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, tragically leaving a man dead.

According to the Independence Police Department (IPD), they received a distress call around 12:50 p.m., prompting officers to be dispatched to the intersection of Sundown Drive and Claremont Avenue. The caller reported that there had been a shooting and one man had sustained injuries.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) teams arrived rapidly at the scene. The injured man was speedily transported to a nearby hospital. However, despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead post arrival, as reported by the IPD.
