Overland Park, your roads are about to get a lot more thrilling! A brand-new development, the KC Auto Club, is gearing up to become a haven for exotic and antique automobile enthusiasts right in your backyard! Picture this: a swanky, country club-style atmosphere, but instead of golf, it’s all about cars. If you’re into shiny engines and vintage wheels, this is the place for you!
Meet Jeff Perry, a local entrepreneur with a knack for turning ideas into reality. Jeff previously founded Fire Door Solutions LLC and sold it last year, leaving him with plenty of experience and ambition. Now, he’s diving into the world of automobiles with his latest project, the KC Auto Club, located at 7505 W. 160th St. in Overland Park. But Jeff isn’t going it alone; he’s teamed up with John Hemmingson, CEO of Lakeside Cos., to make this dream a reality.
So, what’s in store for all you car lovers? The KC Auto Club is designed to cater to a community of individuals who share a passion for cars. The club will entail a stunning space to store up to 75 cars, featuring elevated racks instead of individual garages. Think of it as a lively gathering spot for those who appreciate the artistry of exotic and vintage automobiles.
The Lux, another ambitious project by Lakeside Cos., is building luxury garage units just north at 16010 Foster St., designed to complement the Auto Club. Currently, The Lux has 43 units, with plans for an additional 39 units pending city approvals. Perry explains, “While The Lux focuses on the private storage side of things, we’re creating a vibrant social scene at the Auto Club.”
Membership to this club isn’t just about where to park your prized possessions. Whether you’re storing your car at the KC Auto Club or The Lux, you’ll have access to an exciting social scene. The Auto Club is set to include food and beverage options, bars, and lounges where members can kick back, sip a drink, and chat about all things cars. It’s the perfect spot to show off your latest acquisition, watch a race, or simply mingle with fellow enthusiasts.
Jeff emphasizes that his mission is to take the headache out of vehicle management. The KC Auto Club isn’t just about storage; members can enjoy light detailing and maintenance services, ensuring their cars stay in tip-top shape. Planning on moving your car? No worries—KC Auto Club can assist with transportation without getting involved in the sales process.
Even if you don’t own a luxury car, you can still join the club! As long as you have a passion for automobiles and want to be part of a vibrant community, you’re welcome at KC Auto Club. No need to store a vehicle to be a social member—just bring your enthusiasm and you’re in!
The expansion of The Lux awaits city approvals, with construction expected to kick off in late winter or early spring of 2025. Meanwhile, KC Auto Club is running a tad behind but is anticipated to open its doors in the spring of 2026. Kansas City-based Slaggie Architects is already on board to create a stunning design for the club.
In a world where car enthusiasts crave connection and community, the KC Auto Club is poised to be a thrilling addition to Overland Parkland. Buckle up and get ready for a new adventure, car lovers!
