What’s This All About?
The Patterson Family Foundation, based in Missouri, is all about uplifting rural communities and inspiring local donors to step up. Their mission? To support and stimulate rural philanthropy! They’re launching a Match Grant Program that allows community foundations like ours to amplify the gifts made by local donors. And get this, they’re willing to match donations up to a whopping $70,000!
If you’ve ever thought about making a donation to support your community, now’s the perfect time. The OCACF can double your generosity, making your contributions go even further.
A Look at OCACF’s Impact
Founded in 2006, the Osage City Area Community Foundation has been on a mission to improve our local community. Over the years, they’ve awarded grants of over $125,000 to more than 50 not-for-profit organizations across Osage County. The grants, which range from $500 to $13,000, have helped a diverse array of groups, including educational organizations, libraries, fair associations, and local American Legions.
Heartfelt Messages from Beneficiaries
Communities have thrived thanks to these grants. For instance, the Lyndon United Methodist Church has expressed that they wouldn’t have been able to install a handicap-accessible door without the support from OCACF. Pastor Lauri Beach shares, “Many have gained access to our building with more ease since the installation of the door. We again thank the foundation for the grant.”
Similarly, the Council on Foundations (COF) shared how a grant helped them immensely: “The grant we received was not just a financial boost; it made a lasting difference in the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” says Lori Beatty. “It allowed us to save our existing infrastructure.”
Then there’s the East Central Action Team (ECAT), which received crucial funding to replace their HVAC system. Kathy Lincoln, the president of ECAT, voiced their gratitude saying, “Without their support, we would have had to shut down on several occasions which would have been devastating to our community.”
