In a move that promises to bring even more energy to the bustling streets of Kansas City, Emprise Bank has announced plans for a stunning new headquarters in the popular Crossroads Arts District. The Wichita-based bank is investing a whopping $7.3 million to transform the former Anheuser-Busch distributorship building at 100 E. 20th St., right next to the beloved Rockhill Grille.
Emprise Bank first set up shop in Kansas City back in 2019 as a loan production office and officially became a full-service branch just last February. However, it didn’t take long for them to realize they’d outgrown their original location on 1901 Baltimore Ave..
“We’re outgrowing our space and need more room to accommodate our growing team and customer base,” explained Emprise Market President Debra Swearingen. “Our new local headquarters will be a place where the community can come together and engage.”
When the new headquarters opens its doors in October 2025, it will feature a total of 7,600 square feet of office space along with a lovely 1,995-square-foot patio. Swearingen emphasized that they want this location to serve as a vibrant hub for Kansas City residents and businesses.
“We want to provide great services to the small to midsized businesses that we feel are currently underbanked. Our goal is to be a strong resource for them to grow and scale,” she added, stressing the bank’s commitment to community impact.
With a focus on commercial lending and portfolio management, Emprise is eyeing new hires to expand their Kansas City team. “We’re looking for commercial lenders and portfolio managers to join us,” Swearingen said. More jobs mean more opportunities for local talent!
But it’s not just about Emprise Bank – this project signifies a much larger potential for growth in the Crossroads Arts District. The area is buzzed about for its artistic energy and bustling activities. Swearingen hinted that the bank’s investment could lead to exciting new developments nearby.
“There is actually an entire half-block between 19th and 20th Streets where future development will happen,” she shared. “While nothing is set in stone, we anticipate seeing some kind of mixed-use future development there.”
Emprise Bank is committed to becoming a staple in the community. “This is a true investment in the community. It shows we’re here to stay,” Swearingen said. With plans to offer the site for future development with adjacent properties, there is a strong belief that the Crossroads area will undergo an incredible transformation, enhancing the beauty and vibrancy of Kansas City.
As Emprise Bank makes these exciting strides towards a new headquarters, it’s clear they’re not just focusing on their own growth; they’re also dedicated to uplifting the community around them. The transformation of the former Anheuser-Busch distributorship into a welcoming banking hub illustrates a commitment to both local customers and the broader economic landscape.
