Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ to Make Splash in Kansas City Theatre This July

‘Disney’s The Little Mermaid’ — the beloved, colorful musical production based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most cherished stories — is making its way to the west this month. Set to be hosted at The Lewis & Shirley White Theatre under The Jewish Community Center in Kansas City, Missouri, the theatrical treat will run from July 6 through July 28.

A Magical Run of 14 Performances

A total of 14 performances have been meticulously planned, with shows scheduled for Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The White Theatre, home for this enchanting spectacle, is conveniently located at The J – 5801 W. 115th Street, Overland Park, Kansas.

Tickets are affordably priced, starting at $18, and are available at TheWhiteTheatre.org. The schedule for the performances is as follows:

  • Wednesday shows on July 10, 17, and 24, starting at 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday shows on July 11, 18, and 25, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday shows on July 6, 13, 20, and 27, kicking off at 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday matinees on July 7, 14, 21, and 28 starting at 2 p.m.

Under The Sea Party

On July 21, following the Sunday matinee, a special “Under The Sea Party” will be held in the Multi-Activity Center adjacent to The White Theatre. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., guests can engage in craft activities, benefit from a photo booth, enjoy food, and meet the show’s performers.

Star Cast and Crew

The production, set to mark its debut on The White Theatre stage, is directed by seasoned veteran Guy Gardner, who has previously directed “Matilda” and “The Addams Family” in 2022. Gardner and his team are dedicated to creating the magical undersea world with special effects and illusions that mimic swimming on stage.

The cast of the ‘Disney’s The Little Mermaid’ is led by Lacy Goettling, who will be playing the role of Ariel. Austin Skibbie would be seen as the iconic sea villain Ursula. The supporting roles would be essayed by numerous White Theatre veterans and newcomers alike.
