City Gear Organizes ‘Cutz 4 Kids’ Event for Back-to-School Preparations and Community Celebration

City Gear Hosts ‘Cutz 4 Kids’ Back-to-School Celebration

Kansas City, Mo. — This past weekend, City Gear welcomed families to their annual ‘Cutz 4 Kids’ event, a lively back-to-school celebration aimed at helping children gear up for the upcoming school year. The store buzzed with excitement as community members gathered for a day filled with fun, free services, and resources.

Activities and Offerings

The event offered an array of services, including free haircuts, backpacks, and essential school supplies. Families flocked to the store, eager to take advantage of the offerings to ensure their kids are prepared as the school bell approaches.

Haircuts and Back-to-School Essentials

According to Jennifer Holloway, the district sales manager, the event aims to uplift children’s confidence as they head back to class. She stated, “We want you to feel good in our clothes from toe to head, but we also want to make sure you look good when you go back to school, so we start with the haircut.”

Fun and Learning

Kids also enjoyed some last-minute summer fun, with attractions such as a bounce house and a chance to explore a Kansas City Fire Department fire engine. For some attendees, like Mariah Holloway, who is preparing three children for school, the event signifies a much-anticipated transition. “I’m really excited for them to get back to some normalcy,” she remarked.

Community Spirit

The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and appreciation as attendees acknowledged the efforts of the community to support local families. Ella Joe Briggs, attending with her grandchildren, expressed her joy, saying, “All this is real nice for them to be out here for the public and the kids. The kids are really enjoying it.”

Looking Ahead

As the event continued, the organizers forecasted that about 1,500 people would take part. Holloway stated, “This gives everyone that equal opportunity to make sure they get that first step taken in the right direction.”

A Learning Experience

For many community members, including Mariah, the event served as a learning opportunity before school begins. “We really like to give back to everyone, and I think it’s great to see all the community come together and get prepared to teach our kids some really important lessons,” she added.

With the end of summer nearing, the ‘Cutz 4 Kids’ event not only prepared children for school with essential items and fresh hairstyles but also fostered a sense of community spirit and support among local families.
