Buc-ee’s Plans to Launch New Travel Center in Kansas City by Year-End

Buc-ee’s Set to Break Ground on Kansas City Location This Year

Massive Travel Center in the Pipeline

The Unified Government of Wyandotte County has embarked on a development deal with Buc-ee’s, a sprawling travel center famed for its brisket, beef jerky, and extensive array of gas pumps. There are anticipations that the construction could start soon, potentially by the close of this year.

According to Wyandotte County Administrator David Johnston, the plan is to table this arrangement before the commission’s economic development and finance subcommittee by the end of this month. Though anxious, Buc-ee’s awaits the sanction of this agreement before they can start any work in earnest.

Location Details

The prospective site for Buc-ee’s new location is a 57-acre property located near I-70 and 110th St., a choice spot indeed. Residents and county officials alike are eager to see the finalized blueprint for this particular site. Those in favor of the project hope it will contribute to the city’s ongoing development and attract additional visitors.

Statement from Buc-ee’s

Stan Beard, Buc-ee’s Director of Real Estate and Development, has expressed their enthusiasm for the Kansas City project. He mentioned they are in significant discussions with the UG about initiating a Buc-ee’s travel center in Kansas City, KS. He said, “We still have some work ahead of us, but are thrilled to bring the home of the world’s cleanest bathrooms, freshest food and friendliest beaver to such a vibrant community.”

Excitement Among Residents

The prospect of a new Buc-ee’s outpost has sparked excitement among residents. Kayleigh Bednar, a Liberty resident, said the addition could act as a catalyst in attracting more tourism to the city. She sees it as a fun way to bring people together and a valuable addition to the city’s growing list of attractions.

If Buc-ee’s moves ahead with the proposed site near Kansas Speedway, it would be the debut of the establishment in the state of Kansas. The company opened its first location in Springfield, Missouri, last December.
