Brookside Locals Rally Together to Identify Package Thief Spotted in Doorbell Footage

Community Asked to Help Identify Brookside Porch Pirate

Kansas City, Mo. – Residents in the Brookside neighborhood are rallying together after a recent incident of package theft has left many feeling uneasy. This past July 29, a woman was caught on Ring doorbell footage stealing several packages from a homeowner’s porch.

The Bold Thief

The footage shows the woman walking barefoot up to the home, seemingly unbothered by the camera watching her. At approximately 1:30 p.m., she approached the porch and attempted to steal various packages. Initially, one package was too heavy, causing her to abandon it and successfully grab two others before fleeing in a silver older-model Chevrolet pickup truck. Notably, the suspect has a distinctive neck tattoo that could aid in identification.

Homeowner’s Reaction

Olivia Fisher, the homeowner, expressed her disbelief at the thief’s audacity. “I was surprised at the boldness,” she said. “She just walked right up, grabbed the packages, and left as if nothing was wrong.” Fisher mentioned that witnessing such theft is disheartening, especially when seeing the young age of those involved in such crimes.

Community Concerns

Despite her disappointment, Fisher feels a sense of safety in the neighborhood but acknowledges an increase in property crimes. “It makes you vigilant,” she explained. “You just have to be aware that there are opportunists out there. We need to lock our doors and take extra precautions.”

Seeking Help

Authorities are now asking locals for assistance in identifying the porch pirate. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. The community is hoping that with collective effort, the bold thief will be brought to justice.

Conclusion

The Brookside neighborhood is uniting in the face of this troubling crime, hoping to increase awareness and prevent future incidents. As residents come together, the call to action remains clear: stay alert and look out for each other.
