The esteemed tattoo and piercing studio, Beautiful Body Tattoo, has recently relocated to Martin City, planting roots at 135 th and Cherry Street, a locale earlier occupied by the Related Home Furnishings and situated conveniently opposite the famous Jess and Jim’s Steakhouse.
Native to Martin City, the proprietor Neil Capra revisits his old stomping ground after an impressive 13-year run at 99 th and Holmes. Reflecting on his journey and the decision to return home, Capra said, “I grew up in the Martin City area and went to school at Grandview High School. I worked at both RC’s and Margaritas when I was younger and have enjoyed all of the area restaurants over the years. Martin City has always felt comfortable and like home to me.”
Besides the standard services of tattoos and piercings done by a host of various talented artists, Beautiful Body is also set to broaden its offerings to include microblading and permanent makeup tattoos shortly. Greatly appreciated in the art industry, Capra’s venture enjoys a strong fan following, and the moving to Martin City is all slated to continue serving their loyal customer base “for many decades to come.”
Partially overlapping with Beautiful Body’s move, the Waldo Area Business Association reveals plans to celebrate leap year by inaugurating its 9th Annual Waldo Week on February 29. Set to run up until March 7, the week-long event features live music and complimentary cocktails at the 75th Street Events space, 214 W. 75 St.
Supported by Mike’s Wine & Spirits, which has agreed to sponsor and run an open bar from 5 pm to 8 pm on February 29, the event will also have an engaging performance by the band Rumble Ghost from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Throughout the Waldo Week, donations will be collected for The Children’s Place, a non-profit organization devoted to offering trauma treatment for young children.
Adding further to the welcoming news, Ripple Glass recently opened a new recycling drop off site in front of the Total Wine store located at State Line Point Shopping Center at 13657 Washington Street.
Offering a solution to South Kansas City residents, who recently lost a drop-off location with the closure at the Red Bridge Shopping Center, Ripple Glass emerges as a salvation with its latest drop off site. Accepting glass bottles, vessels, window panes, cosmetic bottles, and jars, and candle jars, the newly opened site has joined over 100 other Kansas City drop off locations also managed by Ripple Glass.
