Biggest Stars to Grace Kansas City’s Big Slick Celebrity Weekend in Support of Pediatric Cancer Research

Biggest Stars Return to Kansas City for Big Slick Celebrity Weekend

Exciting news has come out of Kansas City as the lineup of the annual Big Slick Celebrity Weekend has been announced. The series of star-studded events, held across two days, are set to take the city by storm and support a worthwhile cause – raising funds for pediatric cancer research at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Sheryl Crow and Funny Men Galore

Missouri native and iconic songstress Sheryl Crow is on the roster to light up T-Mobile Center, much like she did two years ago when she graced the stage at the fundraiser. Further, character comic and beloved star of “Cheers,” George Wendt, along with comedians Fortune Feimster and Jeff Ross, are set to add to the eclectic mix of celebrity guests at the event.

Further celebrity guests are anticipated to be announced over the coming days, building up to the grand event scheduled for Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1. Sheryl Crow is slated to perform on the final night at the Big Slick Party & Show at T-Mobile.

Big Slick Hosts Eagerly Awaited

The event will be hosted by a lineup of steadfast celebrity superfans of the Kansas City Chiefs, including Jason Sudeikis, Paul Rudd, Eric Stonestreet, Heidi Gardner, Rob Riggle, and David Koechner. The hosts will undoubtedly keep the weekend events burst with enthusiastic spirit as they celebrate and fundraise for a crucial cause.

Notable Attendees and Special Features

Star of the viral YouTube show “Hot Ones,” Sean Evans, is also expected to entertain guests with a live rendition of his popular program. Additionally, George Wendt will take part in a reunion of “Bill Swerski’s Superfans,” which will also feature comedian Robert Smigel and surprise guests.

The last Big Slick event saw a record turnout of celebrity guests and managed to raise an impressive $3.5 million. Over the years, the event has racked up an impressive $20 million, which has helped elevate the status and capabilities of the Children’s Mercy Research Institute by drawing in top medical and research talent.

Big Slick Weekend’s Core Events

The weekend involves two primary events. Firstly, the Big Slick Celebrity Softball Game will take place on the main field at Kauffman Stadium on May 31 before the Royals play against the San Diego Padres. Following, the Big Slick Party & Show will present a majestic collection of comedians, musical performances, and auctions with incredible prizes up for bidding. Past years have presented experiences such as walking the red carpet at movie premieres or spending an evening with the esteemed Bill Self and Kansas basketball.

July 2024 marks 15 years since the first charity poker and party event from Riggle, Rudd, and Sudeikis; an event that would evolve into the all-encompassing celebration that Big Slick is today.

Tickets and Donations

Tickets for the star-studded Big Slick Weekend can be purchased via the official website. Alternatively, those wishing to support the cause can donate directly to the Children’s Mercy Research Institute via the Big Slick website.

In conclusion, the city of Kansas City will once again triumph in bringing together celebs, fun, and philanthropy to raise awareness and fundraise for pediatric cancer research. Big Slick Celebrity Weekend promises to lighten the city with energy, generosity, laughter, and most importantly, hope.
