Exciting Art Competition Invites Kansas City High School Students to Showcase Kindness Through Creativity

Exciting Art Competition for Kansas City High School Students!

Kansas City is buzzing with creativity as SevenDays, a fantastic organization dedicated to promoting kindness, is on the lookout for talented high school students to showcase their artistic flair in an upcoming Art Design Competition. This is a wonderful opportunity for young creatives to not only express themselves but also make their voices heard on an important theme: kindness!

What’s the Competition About?

Participating students are invited to create art pieces inspired by the daily themes set forth by SevenDays. The co-founder of the organization, Mindy Corporon, beautifully stated that the competition serves as a platform for students to depict what kindness means to them through the medium of wearable art. By channeling their creativity, students will be able to share their unique perspectives on kindness, and that’s something truly special!

The themes for the competition encourage participants to think critically about kindness in various contexts, allowing them to explore their artistic talents while sending a powerful message. It’s an exciting way to engage with the community and spread positivity!

Prizes and Recognition!

If you’re a high school student ready to dive into this creative challenge, brace yourself! Winners will walk away with a fantastic prize of $500 and the chance to be recognized at the annual SevenDays Kindness Breakfast in April. This event promises to be a celebratory atmosphere where the hard work and creativity of the winners will be appreciated in front of a supportive audience.

Imagine the thrill of seeing your design transformed into stickers that will be distributed across schools, businesses, organizations, and even religious groups throughout the Kansas City metro and beyond! It’s a wonderful way to have your artwork shared widely and inspire others to consider the importance of kindness.

Important Dates to Remember

Mark your calendars! The deadline for submitting applications is December 13. So, grab your paintbrushes, graphic design software, or whatever tools inspire your creativity and get ready to create! Winners will be notified in early January, and the anticipation of being recognized for your talent will surely make the holiday season even more exciting.

A Little Background

SevenDays has a deep-rooted mission that stems from a tragic event back in April 2014, when three individuals—Terri Lamano, Reat Underwood, and doctor William Corporon—lost their lives in a shooting at the Jewish Community Center and Village Shalom. In their memory, SevenDays was established with the goal of replacing hate with kindness. It aims to promote understanding and compassion through educational initiatives.

This noble mission continues to inspire initiatives like this Art Design Competition, enabling young minds to think about how they can contribute to a kinder world.

Get Involved!

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to take part in Kansas City’s vibrant art scene while contributing to a meaningful cause. Interested students can find more details and submit their applications online through the official website of SevenDays.

Let’s use our creativity to inspire kindness—what better way to make a statement than through art? Take this chance to show Kansas City what kindness looks like through your eyes!

Looking Ahead

Save the date for SevenDays 2025, which kicks off on March 31 and runs through April 8. This will be another opportunity for the community to come together in the spirit of kindness and understanding. With your participation in the Art Design Competition, you can make a lasting impact in the community.

We look forward to seeing all the creative designs that come from Kansas City’s talented youth and celebrating kindness through art!
