First up, we had The Gathering, which was held on October 1st, marking its impressive 12th year! This delightful evening was dedicated to supporting the Catholic Charities Foundation of Northeast Kansas and their important New Roots program, aimed at helping immigrants and refugees grow their own food. Hosted by the charming Julie Thompson, the event was a night filled with enthusiasm for both the cause and the company!
Guests were treated to inspiring speeches from Lauren Solidum of Catholic Charities and Kristin Selby, the New Roots program manager. Their words wonderfully illustrated the positive impact of the programs on the community. The excitement didn’t stop there! Attendees had the pleasure of shopping at a pop-up farmstand, showcasing fresh produce grown by the enthusiastic participants of the New Roots program. It was a perfect way to combine delicious food with charitable giving!
Off the Wall Gala for Sheffield Place
Not only did attendees enjoy a scrumptious dinner, but they also participated in silent and live auctions that featured an array of awesome items. The highlight of the evening was truly the live art created right before their eyes, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of creativity and support for the cause. It was a night where every bid brought hope to those who need it the most!
New Beginnings: A Special Birth Announcement
In addition to these fantastic events, we also have some delightful personal news to share from Kansas City! On the beautiful day of July 4th, a new star was born. Robert Eugene Freeman, Jr. made his grand entrance into the world, adding a sprinkle of joy amid the fireworks and festivities of the Independence Day celebrations! Proud parents, Hannah Arnspiger Freeman and her husband, must be over the moon with excitement.
