Federal Indictments Shake Up Kansas City Area
In a surprising turn of events, two young men from the Kansas City area have been indicted by a federal grand jury for possessing illegal machine gun conversion devices. The indictment, which was returned under seal, became public only after the brothers were arrested and had their initial court appearances.
The Brothers Harris
Demetrius Harris, known to friends and family as “Meech,” is just 24 years old and hails from Kansas City, Missouri. His younger brother, Darius R. Harris, affectionately nicknamed “D” or “D2,” is 22 years old and resides in nearby Raytown, Missouri. Demetrius has been charged with one count of illegally possessing and transferring machine guns. According to the documents, he allegedly had an Anderson Manufacturing AM-15 multi-caliber rifle fitted with an AR-type machine gun conversion device as well as two other similar devices on January 24, 2024. On the other hand, Darius faces two counts related to illegally having and transferring machine gun conversion devices. The indictment points out that he allegedly was involved with Glock-type conversion devices on two different occasions: October 30 and November 9, 2023. It seems both brothers found themselves wrapped up in some serious business!
