UMKC Announces Revolutionary Partnership with U.S. Cyber Command

Kansas City, Missouri – The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) has made a groundbreaking announcement – their entry into a partnership with the U.S. Cyber Command (USCC), making it the first university in the nation to do so.

In a first-of-its-kind venture, UMKC and the USCC have entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement aimed at achieving significant advancements in the field of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Commenting on this development, Travis Fields, Ph.D., the interim director of the Missouri Institute for Defense and Energy (MIDE), expressed his excitement and optimism. “This partnership represents a key milestone in demonstrating the technical relevance of UMKC and the Missouri Institute for Defense and Energy’s (MIDE) faculty, staff and students,” Fields said. “We are thrilled to be working on cyber solution research and development for the Department of Defense.”

Its primary function lies in ensuring the security of the cyberspace owned, leased, or operated by all the elements within the Department of Defense.
