Savour the New at Tom’s Town Distilling Co. and Boulevard Brewing Company

Located downtown, Tom’s Town Distilling Co. has come up with a refreshing pop-up experience befitting the season. From March 8 through June 1, the basement turns into a verdant escape featuring floral surroundings, garden-themed cocktails, and spring-inspired nibbles.

In honour of International Women’s Month, Boulevard Brewing Company launched a new beer called Flower Power. This dry-hopped summer saison features a custom label designed by the talented Kjella Acosta. For every crowler sold in March, they will be giving back by donating $5 to the Pink Boots Society, a non-profit organization that uplifts women and non-binary people in the fermentation beverages and allied industries.

Grand Opening of Ramen Bowls and SMOAK

Recently relocated, Ramen Bowls has expanded its menu at its new address at 900 New Hampshire. The Japanese-Hawaiian fusion spot serves not only ramen but also cocktails, baked goods, gourmet boba tea, and kakigori.

Meanwhile, new ghost kitchens have landed in Crossroads. SMOAK Burritos and SMOAK To-Go from SMOAK Craft Barbecue+ based in Olathe, launched their BBQ-centric menus on March 7 at the Crossroads Food Stop.

In Shawnee on March 8, you can relish Argentinean Empanadas by Una Mas Empanadas popping up at Friction Beer from 5-8 p.m. Later, head over to Voo Lounge and chill with $1 espresso martinis while enjoying some live music.

Prepare your palate for the West Bottoms Beer Fest on March 9. This event celebrates everything related to beer, with proceeds going to KC Urban Academy. Also, don’t miss the fun Shamrock Shuffle Bar Crawl on Independence Square. Drink-based activities paired with live music will surely give you a memorable evening.

Planning Ahead: What’s Coming in March and April

On March 10, River Bluff Brewing in River Market plans to host an Oscars watch party, complete with specials and games that movie fanatics will undoubtedly enjoy.

Looking forward to April, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art announces a special dinner in honour of artist Hung Liu. The Artist Dinner Series event will be particularly memorable with its menu created by Pam Liberda and her Waldo Thai team.
